Our education program has been designed for students to develop an understanding about;

ART IDEAS

Providing opportunities for students to heighten their appreciation of sculpture and to develop new skills in three-dimensional art.

ART SKILLS AND PROCESSES

Allowing students to experience a studio environment, a unique exhibition site, as well as creating an individual piece of sculpture that they can take away with them.

ARTS RESPONSES

Encouraging students to expand their language and observation skills through the discussion of their own work as well as the work of others.

ARTS IN SOCIETY

Students will have the unique opportunity to experience an artists' work first hand - gaining insight into the artistic process, the development of a body of work and the realities of being a practicing artist.

DISCOVER

These highly interactive workshops have been designed to heighten students' appreciation of sculpture and develop skills in three-dimensional form.

ENGAGE

Developed in collaboration with exsisting artists, these workshops are based on the artist's work in the exhibition, exploring their sculptural practice, body of work, skills and techniques.

CREATE

Students will be encouraged to represent their experiences of the world in three dimensional form and experiment with a range of sculptural materials and processes.

Who Open to all students Years K- 10, including students with special needs. Artists have been briefed to ensure that their workshop activity can be modified for Years K- 10
When Weekdays from Friday 7 March to Tuesday 18 March, 2008. 4 sessions daily: 2 workshops at 10:00am - 11:30am and 2 workshops at 12:30pm - 2:00pm

Cost $180 per session with a maximum of 30 students

DISCOVER

Our Study Tours allow students to directly interact withthe exhibiting artists and their sculptures, gaining a unique insight into their practice.

ENGAGE

The tours comprise of an introduction to the exhibition focusing on the WA Curriculum Framework, followed by interactive talks by two exhibiting artists in front of their work. Artists will discuss issues such as concept, relationship to their body of work, development and change, technique and media.

CREATE

Students will be encouraged to explore, interpret and discuss the aculptures and the exhibition, and then use these ideas in their own art practice.

Who Open to students in Years 8 - 12
When Weekdays from Friday 7 March to Tuesday 18 March, 2008   2 sessions daily: 10:30am - 11:30am and 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Where Meeting point: Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club, Cottesloe Beach
Cost $125 per session with a maximum of 30 students
