Congratulations to Amelie from North Bondi, the winner of the 2011 Sculpture by Me Bondi competition!

Sparkles, the Plutonyen, 2011
Amelie's creative and colourful sculpture (pictured above) is titled Sparkles, the Plutonyen. Sparkles is made out of clay, water colour, acrylic paint and plastic. Amelie found her inspiration learning about space with her class at school!
Just like the artists in Sculpture by the Sea, Amelie sent in an artist's statement, to tell us more about her work:
"my sculpture is small (Pluto is the dwarf planet) , Sparkles has an antennae with lights (because it's dark there), and a star suit to keep it warm (because Pluto is cold)."
Well done Amelie!
Just imagine what you will be able to create next with your winner's prize of $100 worth of quality art supplies, thanks to Chroma Australia!
