In June 2009, Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus - Denmark was launched in association with the City of Aarhus and ARoS, under the patronage of The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Denmark. Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus - Denmark was inspired by Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi, and The Crown Prince and Crown Princess' familiarity with, and enthusiasm for, our Bondi Exhibition, which they visited as part of the 15th anniversary celebrations.
With approximate 500,000 visitors over a period of 3 1/2 weeks, Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus - Denmark was a fantastic success, embraced by the Danes and many international tourists visiting Denmark. We are very happy to announce the third Danish Sculpture by the Sea exhibition in Aarhus in 2013 and look forward to exhibiting sculptures from all over the world.
Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus - Denmark is financially and legally independent of Sculpture by the Sea Incorporated and is being produced by the City of Aarhus in collaboration with AroS Aarhus Artmuseum at no cost to the Australian not for profit organisation.
