Sculpture by the Sea Aarhus - Denmark
This is Denmark’s biggest and most unique outdoor sculpture exhibition. Along Aarhus scenic coast line sculptures are presented on the beach, the waterfront and in the forest. The exhibition area is accessible at any hour and free to the public.
We offer free guided tours every weekend, and thanks to a huge support from various partners we also offer hundreds of additional events for everyone - varying from art lectures to sports and fun workshops for children.
We are very happy to announce the third Danish exhibition in Aarhus during June 2013 and look forward to exhibiting more than 60 sculptures from all over the world.
In June 2009 Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus - Denmark was launched, in association with the City of Aarhus and ARoS Aarhus Artmuseum, under the patronage of The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Denmark.
The initiative to establish the exhibition in Scandinavia came from The Crown Prince Couple’s familiarity with, and enthusiasm for, the Bondi Exhibition, which they visited as part of Sculpture by the Sea’s 15th anniversary celebrations.
With an estimated half a million visitors in both 2009 and 2011 Sculpture by the Sea Aarhus - Denmark is a fantastic success, embraced by the Danes and the many international tourists.
Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus - Denmark is financially and legally independent of Sculpture by the Sea Incorporated and is being produced by the city of Aarhus in collaboration with ARoS Aarhus Artmuseum at neither cost nor profit to the Australian organisation.
