Each year Sculpture by the Sea generates a range of awards and subsidies to recognise the achievements of a number of artists and provide support to assist artists with the costs associated with exhibiting, such as materials and freight.

NAB Western Australian
Sculptor Scholarship $10,000
|
We are pleased to announce Tania Spencer as the recipient of the NAB Western Australian Sculptor Scholarship of $10,000, funded by Co-Principal Sponsor NAB. Tania has also received an invitation to exhibit in Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi, 2008.
All Western Australian artists with works appearing in Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2008 were eligible to be considered for the scholarship. The scholarship recipient was be chosen by Greg Johns, Sculptor and Gary Dufour, Acting Director, Art Gallery of Western Australia based on an assessment of each artist's career to date, body of work and the outdoor work appearing in Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2008. |

All Western Australian artists exhibiting in Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2008 have been supported by the Government of Western Australia with funding of $30,000 from the Department of Culture and the Arts.

| Sculpture by the Sea Dinosaur Designs Trophies |
The Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe Dinosaur Designs Trophies are presented to artists selected for distinction by the curatorial panel and by voters in the AAR People's Choice and NAB Kids' Choice Prize.
Dinosaur Designs is one of Australia's most successful creative collaborations formed by design trio Louise Olsen, Stephen Ormandy and Liane Rossler. For over twenty years Dinosaur Designs have been colouring the world with their bright and orginal pieces. The trophies have been modelled on a hand-made proto-type and moulded in resin, the team's signature material.

Alcoa of Australia
As part of its support of Sculpture by the Sea, Co-Principal Sponsor Alcoa of Australia has acquired one of the exhibited sculptures, which will be installed for public display at a suitable location near one of Alcoa's operations. Time Frame by Derek Roach, was purchased from Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2008 for public display at a suitable location near one of Alcoa's operations.

The Town of Cottesloe Collection
|

The Town of Cottesloe has aquired three sculptures from the previous Sculpture by the Sea Cottesloe exhibitions. These sculptures form the start of a collection for permanent public display for all to enjoy. The Town of Cottesloe has approved funding to aquire a sculpture from Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2008 to be the fourth piece in the collection.
