Caro, Chen and Wang …

04-Oct-2011

In addition to the highly regarded Australian sculptors in this year’s show we are excited to announce that Sir Anthony Caro OM will exhibit a major work at Bondi this year in the middle of Marks Park. Following Sir Anthony’s exceptional mid year show on the roof of the Met in NewYork this is the second time he has exhibited with us at Bondi after ‘Erl King’ had pride of place last year. This years work is very different to the popular ‘Erl King’ and to the works on the Met and will take many people by surprise.

Contrasting in styles to Caro but almost as celebrated, two of China’s leading sculptors Chen Wen Ling and Wang Shugang will exhibit at Bondi for the first time. Chen’s distinctive figurative works were as popular with the punters as the critics in the Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe and Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus shows earlier this year where he received the people’s choice prizes and found favour with collectors as well.
