The Chatsworth House Trust and the New Art Centre, Roche Court Sculpture Park will present 'Caro at Chatsworth' from 28 March - 1 July 2012, the first exhibition dedicated to the work of a single artist to be held in the garden at Chatsworth.
The exhibition will comprise 14 sculptures by Anthony Caro sited around the famous Emperor Fountain, in front of the south façade at Chatsworth, which, following a program of restoration and conservation, will be restored to its full glory in time for the opening of the show.
'Caro at Chatsworth' provides a once in a lifetime chance to see the larger works of Britain's greatest living sculptor, works which reflect the artist's major concerns over the past four decades, in one of Britain's most famous historic settings.

Caro is represented in the major international collections of contemporary art and has exhibited across the world including Sculpture by the Sea in Denmark and Australia. If you missed his spectacular piece, 'double tent', at our Aarhus show in 2009, it is one of the 14 selected works to be exhibited at Chatsworth. In 2000 Caro received the Order of Merit, the only sculptor besides Henry Moore to receive such an honour in the last century and most recently he has had solo exhibitions at the Tate and on the roof of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. As well as 'Caro at Chatsworth', he has major projects destined for New York and Venice, his indefatigable energy and creativity showing no signs of slowing down.
