Thompson Estate’s winemaker, Bob Cartwright, crafted Leeuwin Estate chardonnays for 27 years before joining Thompson’s in 2006. The Thompson Estate 2007 Chardonnay was awarded the trophy for the best chardonnay in the world at the London International Wine and Spirits Competition.

Wine authority and renowned US wine critic Robert Parker recently scored the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon 90+ each, commenting that the wines are of exceptional complexity and character.

“These are terrific wines,” Parker said.

With this year’s bountiful rains and early warm weather, there has been an even budburst with green shoots starting to take shape, indicating that the coming 2012 vintage will be another bumper vintage.
